aureate of the SERSE programme from the Agence Innovation Defense in June 2025, our company is developing a breakthrough technology: the integration of meta-surface radar antennas directly into the structure of a drone, enabling surface detection without aerodynamic impact.
Meta-surface antennas represent one of the most promising advances in applied electromagnetism. Unlike conventional antennas, bulky, protruding and disrupting the aerodynamics of the platforms that carry them, these surfaces with controllable electromagnetic properties can be integrated directly into the skin of a drone, without compromising flight performance. The SERSE programme, led by the Agence Innovation Defense (AID) of the DGA, aims precisely to exploit this potential for surface radar detection applications.
Our selection in June 2025, followed by the effective launch of the programme in February 2026, marks the institutional validation of our approach. The technical challenge is major: it involves processing radar signals captured by these non-conventional antennas to produce operationally exploitable images and detections. This requires developing signal processing algorithms specifically adapted to the electromagnetic characteristics of meta-surfaces, an area where we collaborate closely with our partner ULTIMETAS and the IETR laboratory at INSA Rennes.
Strategically, the SERSE programme illustrates the trajectory we have chosen: that of a company that draws on scientifically validated breakthrough technologies to address concrete operational needs, with the support of French defence institutions.
